On October 11, 1942, the Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church was duly organized with seven charter members:  Mrs. Nolie Barbour, Mrs. Millie Dixon, Mrs. Fannie Stewart, Mrs. J E Wilson (shown in portrait), Mrs. Claudia Wilson Johnson, Mrs. Mary Wilson Bostic*, and Mrs. Della Grace Wilson Stewart*.

Services were conducted in a store building until 1947 when a church building was erected during the pastorate of Rev C R McCartney.  In 1957 the Sunday School Annex was built under the supervision of Rev Clayton Guthrie.

During these 67 years, God has honored this church with His glorious presence.  His commission to preach the Gospel has been carried out.  Proof of this is found in the many souls that have been saved around the altar.  We are truly grateful to God for all that has been accomplished.
